It all started in Edward Lloyd’s coffee house in London more than 300 years ago.
Merchants met at Lloyd’s to exchange information about international shipping and trade. If a ship sank, merchants ran a serious risk of losing their entire fortunes, and they therefore started sharing their risks. They were the forerunners of the professional ‘underwriters’ who today accept risk for Lloyd’s on behalf of other companies.
Lloyd’s of London is the world’s leading insurance market, and dahlberg has enjoyed cooperation with Lloyd’s since 1921 when we placed our first insurance with this venerable insurance house.
In popular terms, Lloyd’s is the hub of the world’s insurance expertise and product development, and as such it is natural for dahlberg to have an extremely close partnership with Lloyd’s.
Through Lloyd’s, we can also offer insurance products not yet available on the Danish market – products that set new standards and allow companies to insure themselves in whole new business areas.
